Joseph H. Thibodeau, Esq.

Joseph H. Thibodeau is in his 37th year in the practice of law, limiting his practice, principally, for all but two of those years, to civil and criminal tax controversy resolution.

An undergraduate alumnus of the College of the Holy Cross, upon graduation (J.D., cum laude) from the University of Detroit School of Law, he served for four (4) years under the Attorney General's Honors Program as a trial attorney in the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice, Washington, D.C.

For two (2) years thereafter, Mr. Thibodeau was the legal advisor to the Governor (Honorable William G. Milliken) of the State of Michigan. In 1971, he commenced private practice in Denver.

A frequent lecturer and author, since 1983, he has been an adjunct professor (Civil and Criminal Tax Procedure) in the University of Denver Graduate Tax Program.

Mr. Thibodeau is a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel, and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America; Who's Who In Practicing Attorneys; and, Martindale-Hubbell's Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. In May, 2001, he was listed in 5280 Magazine as one of Denver, Colorado's top 100 lawyers.

An active (airline transport rated) pilot, Mr. Thibodeau also represents airmen and entities in FAA enforcement proceedings, civil and criminal. He is listed in Who's Who In Aviation and Aerospace and is a charter member of the Air and Space Law Forum. Since 1996, he has competed in the National Championship Air Races (unlimited division) in Reno, Nevada.

Mr. Thibodeau is a member of the Michigan, Colorado (Taxation), and Wyoming Bars, and is active in the ABA (Taxation, Litigation, Criminal Justice Sections), the Federal Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Lawyer/Pilots Bar Association.
